Chris Evans has discussed his remarkable weight loss on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show with co-star Vassos Alexander. The 53-year-old radio DJ revealed he had dropped to 12 stone following a “super tip” on how to lose weight. As part of the diet plan he cannot drink while eating, but must instead consume beverages 45 minutes before or after a meal. He said the change has helped him shred a few pounds and seen others compliment him on his physical appearance.
One person who has noticed a difference in Chris’ look was Vassos, who said the TV presenter looked “shiny” and lost weight.
Explaining how he got in shape last Friday, Chris offered: “It’s ever since I stopped drinking any liquid at all, including alcohol with meals.
“Because this is a super tip that we had during the week from someone who knows, who has been to this clinic.
“They say don’t drink anything with your meals because it ruins the digestion effects of the acid in your stomach, including water.”
He finished: “In fact, water is one of the worse things you can drink with food and so you drink 45 minutes before or 45 minutes after anything you like.”
Just days earlier the TV star had waded in on the debate surrounding Dame Darcey Bussell’s replacement on Strictly Come Dancing.
“Don’t you? Maybe just a gay man, no? Oh Bruno, Craig! Oh no, forget that!”
Of course, the father-of-five’s comments were meant in jest and he was simply making light of the situation.
Meanwhile, Anton Du Beke is tipped to take Darcey’s spot on the judging panel and recently spoke out about replacing the professional ballerina.
Of taking over from Darcey, he said: “I’m certainly qualified. I suspect there will be conversations going on.”
In an interview with Graham Norton on his BBC Radio 2 show, he added: “You know how it works in telly. It’s one of those things.”
Chris Evans’ Virgin Radio Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am.
