Maisie Williams: ‘They’re gonna fire me!’ Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark reveals exit fears | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Maisie Williams, 21, has played Arya Stark since Game of Thrones first hit screens in 2011.

But the British actress admitted she thought she was going to be sacked even before the show aired.

Reflecting on her first day of filming for the HBO series, Maisie said she remembers not being able to nail a scene.

Speaking about the memorable moment in a video posted to Game of Thrones’ Twitter account, she spilled: ”I was quite young and I had such a big imagination.

“In those scenes when I was younger I would really convince myself that I was there and it was happening.”

Maisie said: “That was the only way I knew how to act just by living that sort of moment.”

Recalling one of her most favourite scenes, Maisie spoke about the feast the Stark family put on when King Robert Baratheon (played by Mark Addy) and the Lannisters visited Winterfell.

She continued: “I remember it being really late and being tired but also being like… having a good time.

“I was flicking pigeon pie at Sophie [Turner]. That was my first day on set.”

The star divulged: “They were saying: ‘Can you just like try and get it like right on her cheek?

“’And I just remember thinking like, you want me to actually aim it?”

Maisie thought the instruction was impossible and believed they would be able to edit it in instead.

“I remember thinking, oh, maybe they’re gonna fire me cause I can’t get it right!”

Thankfully, Maisie continued to play the sword-wielding Stark until the last season.

She added: “I am still here. A decade later. It was really great fun.”

Meanwhile, Maisie appeared on Lorraine this week where she spoke out about no longer being on Game of Thrones.

Chatting to guest presenter Christine Lampard, Maisie admitted it will be “strange” when the season has aired and it’s all over.

She divulged to Christine: “The last chapter was really beautiful and I’m going to miss it.

“It’s really strange; now, in this final season, is when I’ve done the most reflecting and looking back on the first season.”

Maisie went on: “I don’t remember what my life was like before this show. I just had no idea, really, of how big it was going to get.

“And when you’re on the show you are consumed by it and you think it’s a big deal. And then it wasn’t until I stepped outside of my bubble that I realised it was big everywhere.”

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres at 2am on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
